Welcome

Welcome to California Gadolinium Law's website, created by Casey Gerry, a San Diego plaintiff's law firm with extensive experience in pharmaceutical litigation against dangerous drugs. This site is for people who have been diagnosed with Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis, NSF, and other conditions caused by exposure to Gadolinium-Based Contrast Agents, Gadolinium Based Contrast Agents. You and your family will find information about the diagnosis and treatment of NSF, and also about the latest medical research on this debilitating and potentially fatal condition. A diagnosis of Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis is a very serious matter, but medical advances offer increasing understanding of the condition, and the hope that treatments can be developed for NSF.

NSFIn June 2006, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) notified health care professionals and the general public about the risks of a potentially fatal condition, Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis (NSF) associated with the use of gadolinium contrast agents, Gadolinium Based Contrast Agents. People who have developed NSF have thickened, scaly patches of skin, most frequently on legs and arms, and excessive growth and thickening of connective tissues that interferes with joint movement. Internal organs, especially the kidneys, are also at risk for thickening. Other symptoms and gadolinium side effects include burning, itching, and swelling of the skin, hardening and tightening of the skin, and muscle weakness.

All studies of NSF show a strong correlation between the use of gadolinium contrast dyes and the development of NSF. In May 2007 the FDA required manufacturers of gadolinium-based contrast dyes for MRI contrast studies to include a new black box warning on their product labeling. A black box warning, also called a boxed warning is printed on the prescribing materials with a thick black line around the text. It's the FDA's strongest warning for a drug.

If you or loved one have been injured or disabled by NSF, or suspect a problem related to the use of gadolinium, it is important to consult a plaintiff's attorney who is experienced and knowledgeable in pharmaceutical and medical device litigation. You may be entitled to recover medical expenses and lost earnings, and compensation for physical pain, suffering, and impairment. If gadolinium use or NSF has contributed to a loved one's death, a surviving spouse or family member may be able to bring a wrongful death action.

The plaintiff’s citizenship or immigration status is not an issue in cases involving Gadolinium-Based Contrast Agents. Casey Gerry has represented Mexican citizens, Mexican nationals living in the US, and undocumented immigrants who have been harmed by unsafe drugs and defective medical devices. If the harm was due to unsafe drug or device sold by a US manufacturer, Casey Gerry dangerous drug and device attorneys can pursue redress in US courts.
